Leeland aka The Code Janitory

User / Leeland

How de' do.

1. Who and Where is Leeland?

1.1. Who

Greetings Program. I am Leeland Artra, a code janitor (aka software sanitation engineer or sometimes euphemistically called senior software engineer) in the product development group at Qpass in Seattle Washington.

1.2. More Who Is

Like all computer janitors I have a lot of personal trash buckets on the Internet. So here is the list of partially maintained links for my bin buckets:

I spend my off-hours reading books of all sorts, working on a computer (when I can get away with it my wife feels I spend too much time on computers and actively works to keep me out of books and off computers), playing with my children, remodeling my house, doing yard work, walking / talking with my wife and AS MUCH TRAVEL AS I POSSIBLY CAN.

Recently my wife and I used our time share vacation deal to go to Hawaii for the first time in our lives. It was as unbelievable as anyone could hope. Some pictures are online at our gallery. Since we love to travel we found a vacation time share plan that works well for us Hilton Grand Vacations. Which I must say is the first time share thing I have been exposed to that actually works well, is flexible and cost effective. If you want to chat about it come see me I'll show you some amazing pictures and commiserate on the good and bad of the time share industry. If you ever want to buy in for heavens sakes let me recommend you so we can earn some bonus points!

In almost all of my past lives I have been a computer janitor of some sort (e.g. systems analyst, web programmer, systems software researcher, systems integrator, systems administrator, network administrator, etc.) I really enjoy all the various aspects of working in the information technology field. Mostly I excel at test first design software engineering dealing with new product designs, re-engineering, optimizing new or legacy applications and custom database applications. I have programmed in too many languages to list (most of which has been forgotten due to lack of use). I currently remember some things about about Python, Java, SQL, UNIX Shells, C, PERL, CSS and HTML.

Aside from the normal bright lad schooling in the fine public schools of Las Vegas Nevada I have also been educated in the US Navy nuclear power, computer 'A', systems design and leadership training schools. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology from University of Phoenix with a 3.92 cumulative GPA as well as enough advanced professional training course certificates from Construx, Oracle, Novell, USENIX, and others to wallpaper a medium sized room.
